Plugins are individual software modules that can be assembled together to create a unique web application. amigopod offers a series of software plugins which can be used to add extra features and functionality to the core visitor management solution.

Available Plugins

Skin Plugin – provides the “look and feel” of an amigopod installation. The skin is developed by amigopod and is based upon the customer’s public website or Intranet branding and navigation. Skins can be applied to either the Operator administrative interface or the Web Login splash pages presented to the users when logging in. Multiple skins can be hosted on a single amigopod VMA to support different business units or multi-tenant environments.

Hotspot Manager Plugin – is designed for those customers that wish to build a commercial public access hotspot where visitors to their location can self-manage the creation of a guest account by entering in their credit card details and selecting a suitable usage plan. The amigopod uses API integration to perform immediate credit card authorisation before permitting access. Typically customers are in hospitality, sporting venues, transportation hubs, etc.

SMS Manager Plugin – is designed for both Corporate and Public Access environments and enables the sending of visitor account details or custom messages via SMS directly to the visitor’s phone. The SMS Manager provides customers with a modern, efficient and low cost delivery mechanism which resonates with the end user. It minimises the delays and support issues associated with lost account emails or forgotten passwords.

Transparent Proxy Plugin – is designed for use in Corporate Access environments where the corporate Internet connection is controlled, filtered and logged by a proxy server such as Microsoft ISA server or other commercial offerings such as SurfControl, WebSense, BlueCoat, etc. The Transparent Proxy Plugin integrates with data networking technologies such as WCCP or Policy Based routing to transparently forward wireless visitor traffic to the amigopod VMA where the plugin then redirects the traffic upstream to the defined corporate proxy server. This eliminates the need for the visitor to know about or configure their browser for the corporate proxy server.

Advertising Plugin – builds on the capabilities of the amigopod VMA to allow the delivery of advertising material. Based on intelligence gathered from, and about the visitor, customers can deliver a personalised experience to visitors based on captured information. This visitor intelligence functionality enables marketing personnel to use amigopod for selective marketing and reach individual visitor groups with specific campaigns and promotions.

Third-Party Integration Plugins

Beyond the ‘amigopod verified’ program of supported wired and wireless infrastructure suppliers, amigopod have developed strategic integration solutions with many key hardware and software solutions.

These integrations are designed to add value to standard amigopod deployments and can complement any ‘amigopod verified’ solution.

Aruba Replication Services – designed for large distributed Aruba controller deployments where centralized authentication is deployed but remote survivability is also required. Amigopod can replicate authentication details down to local Aruba controllers in each location to provide a local authentication source in the event of WAN failure.

Cisco IP Phone Services – allows customers using Cisco IP Telephony solutions to provision an amigopod guest account directly from their IP Phone. Amigopod have developed a native XML Services App that is supported across a wide range of Cisco IP Phones. amigopod TechNote - Cisco IP Phone Services

Infoblox Services – designed for large distributed networks where wired or wireless users are connected to a centralized access controller over a routed infrastructure. Leveraging Infoblox as a centralized DHCP server, MAC address visibility can be maintained in this routed environment by the amigopod polling the Infoblox DHCP lease database in real time. amigopod TechNote - Infoblox Authenticated DHCP

Microsoft BizTalk Services – allows customers using the Microsoft BizTalk framework to programmatically provision amigopod guest accounts via the defined SOAP WSDL API interface.

Palo Alto User-ID Services – extends the Palo Alto User-ID technology of mapping source IP Address to username to all non-corporate users authenticated by amigopod’s core RADIUS engine. This user visibility is typically only associated with corporate directory services such as Active Directory and Novell e-Directory. amigopod TechNote - Palo Alto Networks User-ID Services

PMS Services – Allows amigopod appliances to integrate with leading hotel Property Management Systems.  Hotels are able to deploy post-paid internet services to their customers via amigopod’s self-registration portals.

StopWare Visitor Services – leveraging the PassagePoint Lobby management solution, receptionists can now electronically sign in a visitor to your premises but also automatically provision a temporary Internet access account for the duration of their stay.
