Who We Are
A fast growing enterprise wireless and security company
At the intersection of two of the hottest technology markets on the planet - wireless and security - Aruba is a fast-growing, privately-held network infrastructure company founded in February 2002. We pioneered the concept of centralized wireless LANs and are credited with introducing the first modular WLAN switching system. We build high-performance mobility and security systems for enterprises that allow them to seamlessly introduce wireless, security and mobility services over their existing wired networks and manage those services from a single point.
What We Do
Build high performance wireless LAN and wired/wireless grid controller systems
Aruba markets and manufactures next generation enterprise-class systems that let corporations deal effectively with new network management and security issues caused by wireless technology and user mobility. Considered the highest performance and feature-rich enterprise systems on the market, Aruba's WLAN switches and grid controllers integrate a variety of functions, such as VPN termination, user-aware firewalling, RF management, and intrusion prevention within a centralized system. This system allows enterprises to define and enforce network policy for both wired and wireless users from a single point. Aruba's products include modular and stackable wireless LAN switching systems, 802.11a/b/g access points, grid controllers and wired/wireless grid points.
The Problem We Address
High cost of wireless deployment, complex and distributed management of wireless and security services, no unified secure access policy definition and enforcement for wired and wireless users
Corporations desperately want wireless but don't want to disrupt their existing wired networks, compromise security or go broke installing and managing yet another network. Aruba is recognized for solving these problems with its centralized approach to building, securing and managing wireless LANs. That same approach is now being extended to wired networks. Because users are mobile they are no longer associated with a physical port or static IP address. Corporations must now manage and secure people, not ports. Aruba's system was uniquely designed to solve this problem for both wired and wireless users by requiring authentication and enforcing access controls per user before allowing network access. Aruba's system enables corporations to densely deploy inexpensive "thin" APs in user space instead of the ceiling and manage the entire wireless environment from a single location. This improves performance and radically reduces operational cost. Aruba's systems leverage the existing IP network as a simple transport mechanism, so no logical or physical changes are needed. This same centralized policy and security model is now being extended to secure exposed wired ports and as a means to centralized interior security functions such as anti-virus, application firewalling, content filtering and other security functions typically distributed in wiring closets.
How We Do It
With patent-pending RF technology and the industry's highest performance central processing architecture
Aruba is the only company that provides complete centralized security and policy management for both wired and wireless users. We do this through a unique combination of hardware and software. Aruba's systems integrate high performance processing engines and couple this with state-of-the-art RF management and security software. Combined, Aruba's WLAN switches and grid controllers provide corporations with the ability to build scalable grids that deliver on-demand wireless, security and mobility services.
